Some books are useful because they add content. Others are useful because they interfere with haste.

I like the second type. They make the first explanation feel incomplete in a productive way. They stretch attention, widen the frame, and keep me from confusing a quick pattern match with understanding.

That matters for technical work too. Systems fail when teams stop asking one question too early. Good reading helps extend that question a little longer.
